May 6, Swim Team News
Hello and a big Welcome to the 2021 Preston Village Tiger Sharks Swim Team!
This is our first communication via our new website (www.PrestonVillageSwimTeam.com), which was designed by our Executive Board Member Tim Dietrich. We'll be sending out communications as we lead up to (and during) the season to share updates & other important information.
New Families: We have many new families on the team this year! To give you a streamlined way to have your questions answered, we have set up a new email address for all swim team-related questions for you new folks. Send any questions to [email protected] and Carianne Davis, our volunteer welcome committee, will help get you the information you need.
Coach Communications: Once the season starts, the Coaches are very busy on the pool deck and in the pool during swim team practices. If you would like to contact our coaches, please try to avoid pulling them aside during practices. Instead, feel free to email them ([email protected] and [email protected]) regarding any questions or concerns. In addition, they are both available for private lessons.
Sponsorships: If you own a business and would like to be a sponsor of our Tiger Sharks, please find more information here: https://www.prestonvillageswimteam.com/become-a-sponsor
Swim Suits: Don't forget to purchase your swim team suits at All American Swim! More information here: https://www.prestonvillageswimteam.com/team-suits
We are in need of a new Starter! A Starter starts each race during a home swim meet with the use of our Starter's horn. (A Starter's Guide is available to learn this role.) A Starter is the key to running a smooth & fast meet - want to help us keep things moving along!? This might be perfect for you! Let us know if you are interested.
Stroke & Turn Judges needed! Want a ticket to the best seat in the house at swim meets? Or want to learn more about the technical aspects of swimming? Attend one of the TSA virtual Stroke and Turn clinics! Attendance does not lock you into this position, but the team is always in need of people for this trained role. After the clinic, if you feel you'd like to see what it's like "on deck," we can have you shadow a S&T judge during a meet to see if this position is indeed for you! Virtual clinic dates are May 20th and May 27th at 7:30pm, and you can RSVP on the team website. The Zoom link will be sent out a couple days prior to the meetings to those interested.
Thank for your attention, and looking forward to a great season!
